ActionAid will be heading to the Big Chill in 2011 – and you can come too

ActionAid is proud to announce that it a charity partner for the Big Chill Festival 2011, which runs 4-7 August at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Shropshire. We’re looking for keen volunteers to join on us there.

Last year (pictured above), over 5000 festival-goers signed up to fight hunger at the Big Chill, along with musicians Lady Sovereign and Daddy G.

The Big Chill is one of the UK’s most influential and innovative festivals, with 40,000 visitors this year. Headliners in 2011 include The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West and Robert Plant.

It’s a great place for ActionAid to spread the word about how we can help end poverty. We’ll be showing people in the UK what they can do to help people in the developing world free themselves from poverty, as well as running loads of activities for children at our tent in the family area.

ActionAid’s cheeky little sister Bollocks to Poverty will also be hitting the festivals this summer, talking tax justice at Reading Festival, Beach Break Live, Underage Festival and Freeze.

Last year, ActionAid worked with the Big Chill creative team on the Haiti Fundraiser at the Roundhouse, which raised £91,000 to help earthquake survivors.
